Timeline of Key Events

These are many of the major events that have shaped the Reichert v. Hornbeck case, or have been overlooked and ignored by the judicial system, leaving a father mentally destroyed and separated from his child.

2025

May 23rd, 2025 – Jeff Reichert, through an ADA advocate, submits a request for an investigation by a Special Master.

Jeff Reichert files an Emancipation case on behalf of his son, Grant.

2023

May 27th, 2023: Grant called 911 about his mother, Sarah Hornbeck, while at Airsoft.

2022

Grant went to Florida with his Mother and his grandparents after a hearing on February 2nd, 2022, blocking his access to his father.

2020

Multiple mysterious arrests occurred of Jeff Reichert

Summer: There were “quite a few” police interventions and alleged violations of the protective order. Text messages from June 2020, emails from June 23rd, 2020, and messages from July 1st, 2020, were exchanged.

The custody case and other related cases change jurisdiction to Anne Arundel County from Baltimore City, despite neither party living there.

Jeff Reichert moves to Virginia.

2019

November 2019: Following the October 28th order, Grant was not produced for visitation the weekend of November 1st to 3rd or November 29th to December 1st. OFW messages regarding attendance at sports games and therapy were exchanged. Four missed Soberlink tests were noted.

June 2019: Last weekend of school, Sarah brought Grant and his younger brother to the Eastern Shore. Sarah consumed excessive alcohol until she passed out drunk. Sarah left her two children on their own, unattended in a hotel. Sarah blocked Jeff’s number, so Grant was unable to call his father from her phone. Grant then contacted his grandmother, Sarah’s mother, Linda, but didn’t tell Jeff. She just ordered food for the kids to eat, still on their own.

2018

False arrest from a false protective order.

March 12th, 2018 – Custody hearing cover up.

March 7thSarah Hornbeck arrested for DUI after crashing into police vehicles in Charles County, MD. She was allegedly intoxicated, non-responsive, and her child was left stranded. No child endangerment charges were filed.

2017

Jeff Reichert was allegedly discovered drunk with Grant by three Anne Arundel County police officers. Reichert testified he poured one drink when feeling anxious and only had a sip when officers knocked on the door. He tripped and fell walking to the door, leaving him disoriented, but he asserted he was not drunk. Officers saw the bottle of alcohol and immediately made the assumption that he was intoxicated, and they took Grant from the house. Reichert was in the hospital for an unrelated injury at the time a hearing occurred and a related order was entered. Sarah Hornbeck filed a petition for protection from child abuse against Mr. Reichert related to this incident.

2011

December – Allegations emerge that Sarah had an inappropriate relationship with a police officer involved in investigating or enforcing protective orders against her.

December – Sarah and her father were arrested for domestic violence against Jeff following a physical attack at a child custody exchange.

2010

Sarah Hornbeck tried to run over Jeff Reichert.
